Looking For A New Job?

The comments on the previous post were up to 150 in total so I thought it was time to start a new post. I was just taking a look at the official RGIS website and I thought this was funny: on the home page, under the title Looking For A New Job? it reads:

RGIS is always looking for qualified people to fill positions worldwide. From part-time seasonal to life changing careers.

It was the life changing careers part that made me laugh, for some odd reason. Of course, RGIS doesn't indicate whether working for them will change your life for better or for worse. Hmmm...

Actually, "always" looking for people makes me laugh.

In this economy, if you are always looking for people, you might want to consider why your turnover is so high.

Hell, these days not passing the pre-employment test just means that you're eminently qualified for a management position.

So much for mandatory background checks and drug testing for all CVS RX counters. This is the 2nd time in less than 2 months now. The first occurence was what brought about the drug testing, etc. What comes next? Strip searches? lol

from the article on the theft (http://www.gazettenet.com/2010/04/14/area-police-news?SESS992b22ebcee6acc7b3db49386fbe2873=gnews)...

NORTHAMPTON - A worker was caught stealing prescription painkillers while performing an inventory at a city pharmacy Monday morning, according to police.

The suspect, identified only as a 31-year-old Connecticut man, will be summoned to Northampton District Court on a charge of larceny of a drug, police said.

An outside firm was performing the inventory at CVS, 366 King St., when store employees reported seeing one of the inventory workers pocket a bottle of Oxycodone and later take it to his car, police said.

Police said the suspect is an employee of RGIS, a Michigan company specializing in inventory, merchandising and staffing.

A message left with the company Tuesday was not immediately returned.

I agree working as grunt labor for RGIS sucks for most. But some people are really good at it. Good for them lol. I am tired of the unpredictable job length, etc (I was at a job for TEN HOURS once)

It is a weird job that I am just doing for filler right now.

It has nothing to do with my career goals (i just started culinary school and am now looking for a kitchen job) and I can't wait to leave it behind.

Oh and in case anyone thinks all rgis people are dumb... I have an IQ of 140, Honors Diploma in HS, and am now on the Deans List at my college. I'm just not snobby enough to be picky about a job. The economy sucks here so I took what I could get at the time.

I recently got an internal job posting for 'Merchandising Specialist' positions through RGIS where you get transferred to D45 for a few months. Sounds like we'd be setting up shelving and fixtures in new stores.

Anyone here ever do that before? I applied ... anything I should watch out for or is this a 'sweet deal'.

Wish I left earlier said...

Never make plans on the same day you have a shift with RGIS. A supposedly quick 3 hour shift can turn into a 15-hour nightmare or an expected 8 hour day shift may result in only 3.5 hours of pay as a result of a "lunch break."

I remember a few years back if I was trapped in a carpooled, I would be taken to another shift where the store was badly short handed and nothing but newbies were in place.

The final year I was with RGIS, I either drove myself to the locations or was the carpool. I remember several times after a long 10 hour shift, people would then be picked up and driven to another store during rush hour, where they ended up not even getting paid as too many people had already been called in.

Re: merchandising.

It's basically setting up shelves and planograms and the like. I know they do a lot of it for CVS, but there may be others now as well.

I've never done it, but a couple in the district did. They fly out to wherever, put you up in a hotel for seven days (not exactly sure on the days).
Come home for three days, then off again.

Believe the shifts are 8 hours each day.

Roberta said...

The merchandising job actually isn't bad. Someone in our district got transferred to do that. he got a guaranteed forty hours a week. You set up shelving and help merchandise the new store. You pretty much stay in one store for the week and help them set up for opening and then you travel to another store. If you like physical labor then it's a great job for you.

And by the way there is a huge glitch in the preemployment test. if you scroll down using the arrow keys it changes your answers. That's why so many people are failing. Fine by me. More hours and stores for me and less newbies to deal with.

I honestly don't know if us regular auditors are supposed to get this but I got a D2B E-Newsletter in the mail -- the thing is downright depressing.

The newsletter is so incredibly full of jargon that I feel our district is either neglecting to tell us stuff, or it is meant for management only. RH&T, CAAP, TLIT, AMIT, DMIT, 900 Codes, TDRs, CALC to Hit, S2 -- I never heard of any of this (well, I think I know what CALC to Hit is).

The newsletter also exemplifies all this stuff one district does to improve productivity ... our district hardly does any of it. We aren't even told what our expected APH is supposed to be anymore (yet we're expected to achieve it).

Anonymous said...

Anyone hear anything about people from corporate making the rounds to each individual district?

Apparently, it's invitation only and all DMs and AMs were required to leave the office.

Heard it was basically a gripe session.

Can anyone tell me what the drug screening process is in the Kansas City district? Or anywhere else? Will they drug test at the interview, or at training? Do they ever do random drug tests, or tests anytime after pre-employment screening?

rectal counter said...

do they do drug test? um very very seldom...if you did lines of cocaine during your interview...i would say maybe 1% chance of a drug test depending how fast you can key...only for a specific reason would they do a drug test...obviously if you are asking do they drug test, you are the top notch canidate that rgis is looking for...the next question is do they check your prison record...they do slightly but that rarely disqualifies you...

merchandising specialist...if your a strong person that like to do physical labor the job might be good for you. our district has had 2 serious injuries where the people had to have surgury. one was out a year. the other person has had two operations and needs a 3rd operation at least and has been out over a year...my district needed to pick some bodies to do the project so a 110 5'3 girl was one body they choose...

my distict just fill slots they don't care who...the surgury bills and the physical theropy, workers compensation, must be huge...

There is no drug testing unless you join one of the teams like walmart or home depot

They have been doing mandatory drug testing for RX counters now.
Might have something to do with 2 people getting arrested for stealing drugs from CVS while counting their pharmacies, you think? It appears that it will be mandatory for all RX counters and not just for CVS. Ah!! But again the 'adder roles' come into play.
RX supervisor in the big chain drugstores offer more money per hour. So, the always fair assignment of adder roles comes into play. It doesn't seem to matter if the people who are experienced in the RX, have done it for years, and can be trusted have taken a back seat to those who are favorites and to whom they want to give the 'adder roles'. So, now they have this issue since most of their favorites are refusing to get drug tested. And, those who counted RX for years but since the adder role have taken a backseat, are basically telling them to 'go to hell'. Gotta love it.

rectal counter said...

i am running a RX next week...i sure as hell did not piss in a cup to run it.

my district fakes complete surveys/test/vids that are required for some accounts anyway...i doubt they sent in fake urine for a drug test but i would not be surprised if they did...

the rx adder roles don't pay anymore money. they just make your average not count. like a dollar tree dump bin counter (not that we use those).

bring those vermount AM'S and DM'S to my district, lets see who get the worst of it!!! rgis has too many secrets to hide from thier custumers. i could grind some of thier inventories down to a snails pace. whether i with the company or not...

ok i am off to work to pull some numbers out my ass...no real recount in this store...

Kaylee said...

I went to interview already, and I filled out tax forms and availability and everything. That night I had to "finish" my application online (give info for background check). I have training in a few weeks.

Will they drug test me then? Or am I in the clear by now?

Anonymous said...

CVS has new requirement the RGIS people working the RX inventory part of CVS be drug tested.
They told all current employees in my district that the testing was voluntary but if you were not tested you could not work CVS-RX.
I did not get tested, work nights/weekends CVS never goes then. Yes most of the usual RX workers refused the drug testing and we are having issues with covering CVS RX's now.

As to RGIS HQ visiting districts, that is TRUE. VP for HR and her assistant visited our district They sent emails to employees stating nothing would be held against anyone etc.

Anonymous said...

We were told that everyone doing CVS, even the people not counting pharmacy, had to be drug tested eventually. But after the first batch of people were tested, they stopped doing it. I haven't been tested, and I've done several RX counts since then.

I think they realized that if they did drug tests on everybody, we'd probably lose most of our Top Guns. Not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion.

Yes, there will be several gripe sessions coming to a district near you. Allegedly the people selected to bitch will be picked at random, but you know how that goes.

I guess the corporate folks were really surprised at what's been said so far - pretty much everything that gets bitched about here. The BS about productivity, favoritism, the lack of management skills among the DMs and AMs, the lousy equipment, shortages of finger lasers, travel pay, the "bonus" program, etc.

Anonymous said...

Latest pull one over on the employee with Bonus...
I was asked to lay ART's (Area Recount Tickets) for a large sporting type store. This is done the evening before and I was not even at the inventory the next morning. I put my time in on a 908, no one said different.
Now I get may wage statement it went in under the Store, no adder role, the store did not make bonus so I LOST bonus money and I was not protected so me being there more than three hours I'm sure it will be a rated event and will effect my average come review.
Also note that not being 908 I also got paid $1 less an hour.
Thanks so much RGIS!!
Last time I do anything like that for you.

Why doesn't RGIS offer a savings or 401K plan for the auditors? Don't they know that that would be an incentive for employees to stay? Most US companies offer 401K plans, that often match the first 3% of employee contributions. Why doesn't RGIS? Does it think so little of its employees? Does it want longterm employees to retire penniless? Just a thought.

so basicly if you are doing a CVS you have a 50/50 chance of being drug tested (volantary). rgis does not give a shit what drugs you are on.

we have 2 approved "drivers" that have dwi violations on thier licence, amoung other infractions. we have a driver in the past (15+) that actually fell asleep and crashed a company vehicle as a approved driver.

we have a "creature" in are district that falls asleep in aisles but is approved, and has dozed off at the wheel once i know of in the last year or two. this "creature" smells so bad i have to be 16' away to count near her or i will puke. SHE HAS A BEARD...when i 1st saw this creature i was coming out of a dark back room. the creature was coming down a aisle. the game resident evil 2 was popular back then. (its a zombie killing game)...i literaly was reaching over my back looking for my shotgun for i could blow this creature away. she walks like a zombie, talks(mumbles and makes angry sounds) like a zombie, and smells like the living dead. this "creature" has been kicked out many times out of stores for her attitude knocking shelves over. she smashed 3 of the blue audits not on purpose just being her stupid careless zombie angry self. she can't key worth shit...constantly she will type in "4" as "94" ect...she has a list of stores that have banned her from going to them. she has no redeeming qualities except she will show up. if you call the creature up she will show up. i would not be shocked to find out that rgis figured out how to dig up a body and make it count cause i have it in my district.

so if your a fucking living breathing person that will show the fuck up. rgis does not give a shit about your drug habbit, your prison record, or even if your undead!!!

we are so short staffed it is so funny. we have a main district and 2 satelite offices. the 2 satalite districts are a joke. the satalite districts are down to two team leaders. one is brand new and knows nothing. the crew in one of the districts has had a VP of an account tell my DM not to send the local people anymore. since all the good people in that satalite district quit. so now they have to pay me mileage and time to drive and run stores 60-250miles away and a seperate company vehicle to drive my crew.

so i will probably do a 75%...

if they kept the good people up there they would do a 70% after travel a 60%

after all the travel expenses from much further away, even hotel expences (perdium) they will be lucky to get a 50% when i run them...

but my DM will hit his calc score...the company is too dumb to look at the bottom line...

i was top ranked in the division for my district from the teamleader score card. what do i get? a big old pile of nothing!!!

the new "benafit" from blackstone is a joke/scam

"Creature" in previous post sounds like management material! LOL. I like the earlier comment about RGIS offering a 401k plan. That would really help employee morale and reduce turnover, as long as they match the employee contribution. But will they do it? Not until the economy improves and they have to is my guess. Maybe they will surprise us with their good sense for a change. Also, how about bringing in free donuts once in a while. It would show some appreciation and wouldn'r cost much. Just a thought.

Anonymous said...

If RGIS wanted to give us "benefits" or "perks", why not institute a medical insurance program not just a discount medical?

Dounuts??
How about just plain old water when working in 85 degrees a/c is broken inventory.
Bring back the bonus program!!
That's right you used to get 3% of your salary twice a year as a bonus as after 6 months and did 100 hours in 1/2 year.
Had that program, killed it, brought it back and killed it.
But that was pre-Blackstone, don't expect any freebees.

From their website:

Every one of our auditors receives formal training on the RGIS Inventory System prior to participating in their first inventory.

I found that funny. All the interviewees we had were immediately put on a Kohls within 15 hours of the job interview. We just started scanning right away, haha.

RGIS Walmart crew was more than three hours late to a store in Michigan (actually not very far from corporate HQ).

Don't know why they were late, but apparently there was no call that they were running late.

rectal counter said...

kohl's training...the DM's need to make thier numbers so they put trainies in stores. pay them for "training pay" on a 908 and get thier counts to count under a real employees number. so its like having free workers at kohls. headquarters is too dumb to figure this out. (don't tell anyone its a secret)

some of the shit i pull on rgis is even worse and cost them far more. i use to be honest about my hours worked not anymore.

i am pretty sure i lost a national account. the DM of a store wanted me to count something (this was last year). it was large things tangled up, it would of crush my average. so i laughed in the dm's face and walked away without even trying to explain why. (i was rude since my attitude does not matter) i use to be nice and pleasant. so i figure a $2500 account per store about 25 stores 62,500 a 50%-75% profit would be 31,250-47,500ish...that could of payed my salary for a year.(i don't know if we lost the account nationaly that would add up to 100,000's...) this is what we call being penny wise and pound foolish.

i am shocked that custumers DM's don't like to be laughed at. rgis does not want to pay for what i know. then they get a rude counting idiot. (i am happy to play the role)

a couple of our blow-in artist got caught massively cheating in a store...what happens? we just change the stores they are in.

That someone would do that to HIDE their BATCHING.
Gee, RGIS put the volume key on the RM, what do you think it was going to be used for?

Where is the volume on the RM?

When I was there, no one knew. Or they knew and didn't tell anyone.

It's been more than a year since I've worked there, so I'm sure people have figured out new tricks.

By the time I had left, people had figured out how to get on the Internet with the RMs.

I truly despise working for this company.

If it isn't one thing its another.

Try this for instance, when we travel to certain stores 3 hours away, were required to take a lunch on the road. This usually entails 6 people sleeping while the driver stops for coffee. Thats it. That is our first lunch. People bitched and now we have to leave half an hour earlier so we can sit in the parking lot and have our lunch...with everything around us closed.

Thats just the tip of the iceberg....everyone knows about the altering of the timesheets.. so on so forth. Hell I'll even share something here, so you ops managers our there be sure to pay close attention cuz we know you check to see what the grunts are saying if you be smart.

Take 1 Memory stick, any memory stick. any single stick that has been formatted for the inventory.
Palm said stick. they wont notice.
Take said stick home, stick it into the usb slot of your computer, the File you're looking for is FMbadgelist i believe.
Open it in wordpad.
????
Profit.

what you have is as near as i can figure...a regional badge list. Its everyone in your district. Including the District Manager. Their badge number with their name.

Be sure to remember your dm's number for this next step

Mkay, go to target, hellmart, somewhere big you know your bitch of a fucking district manager is going to be. something with 40+ auditors.

Step 1. Grab a second RM.
Step 2. Hide it somewhere. a bathroom works wonders. places people dont want to count also work wonders too since no one will be there. Dressing rooms are great also. the van works great too.
Step 3. Enter your DM's badge number in the RM in question.
Step 4. Go to the supervisor menu. Procede to delete the fuck out of every area you can. Its best if you do this when you're leaving.
Never ever enter the dm's badge number into the RM you are currently using to count.
Step 5. ?????
Step 6. Profit.

The above works wonders if you can also palm the usb backup... what this means is the entire inventory has just been deleted and needs to be recounted.

Btw... @all DM's who are douchebags editing our time, All the Ops managers who dont know shit about working as an auditor...to all the assholes above us who dont know what the fuck you are doing.. We arent the idiots you think we are. We can and will make your world shit, so stop treating us like crap.

Anonymous said...

"FMbadgelist i believe." is a list of every employee in your operations group. If you travel out of your Ops Group they have to setup something so your district gets into that file.

re: travel
Seriously, you don't really take that break, do you? Why not drive thru and add to travel time sheet?

re: supervisor menu
Who is your accomplice at the control desk? The RM in question has to be put in supervisor mode at
the laptop or scanned from a supervisor badge that has been approved by input at the laptop--or do DMs have automatic supervisory numbers???
At least, that's my experience.

Interesting day today. My wife is training to be a TL, and was scheduled to run her 2nd store this morning. So we stopped by the office yesterday to pick up equipment. Rummaging around in the equipment room she managed to find 4 RMs and a printer. No lasers, no AP. Since we normally staff 3 people in that store, she figured on grabbing some lasers and an AP after our store last night.

Well, we did get some lasers, but our AM said she would send an AP up with another counter. The office is in the opposite direction from our house as the store, and going by there would add nearly 2 hours to the travel time. Not to mention, my wife doesn't have an equipment room key yet.

Then we find out that our AM is going to be running the store instead. Apparently the store manager was unhappy with the previous inventory.

The next morning, things started going wrong. We're driving to the store when we get a call. Our AM has had a family emergency and can't be there. Fortunately my wife had already gotten the download and had her portable with her. I had gotten out a hand truck that I'd had, and cleaned it up. But I didn't load it in the car because we were expecting to the AM to be there with her gear. So, we had to carry all the equipment in. And this was the trendier of 2 adjacent outlet malls, so it is laid out more like a pedestrian mall, meaning it can be a fair hike from the parking lot to the store.

So, we get to the store and start getting set up. Turns out the problem with the last inventory was that it ran way long, so the store manager was promised 6 people this time. We ended up with 5, but we still only had 4 machines. One of those wasn't working well, so my wife planned to use it as the time clock. Tried to turn it on in the store and it wasn't working at all. One of the others brought some lasers, so we had more of those than we did machines for a change. Still no AP, though. Fortunately, my wife had one of her memory sticks with her, though she hadn't expected to need it.

After calling our DM, my wife was instructed to send the extra people home, as it would take several hours to get more machines out to us. One of the others was also training to be a TL, so she stayed and swapped back and forth with my wife counting and running the portable.

The store was tiny, but, as is typical for outlet malls, packed tight. They did a decent job of prep, even had extra rolling racks to spread out their stock, but even then I counted a couple of racks of clothes that were nearly 200 pieces. The store manager was annoyed at first, but understanding after she learned the full story.

Remember I said that my wife had downloaded the program for the store? Turns out the program had been changed, and our DM and the store manager weren't notified until over an hour into the inventory. But after some consultation with the FSC, which I was too busy to observe, that was rectified. Then the printer wouldn't work. That was finally fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver and plugging the printer into a different USB port, even though it is only supposed to work from one port in particular.

But my wife managed to pull it off. We got the salefloor done in the allotted time, even though one of our three counters was doing jewelry in the stockroom most of that time. Another hour for the rest of the stockroom, and half an hour (including travel time) for their offsite storage.

Hi, I'm back ...
about this Blackstone Group email buying club discount program special accomodation. I've been through there and jumped through all their hoops and gave it a good look. So nice ... so accomodating ... and they want your feedback ... what could be better than saving up to 30% on vacations, hotels, designer goods, omaha steaks, ... fashion, fun, lifestyle? Well this is shit and a shit thing to do to your employees ... and I'm a gonna tell you why.
First off don't think this is a blackstone group employees exclusive ... No thats a lie ... if you look on that super special deal bid now but wait for the buzzer page , and look at the number of people participating verse the number of special deals available its like playing the lottery ... there's like several hundred thousand people playing this "click" the birdy when the timer runs out game. So blackstone has ovbviously tied into a package marketer ... so there's LOTS of suckers like you and me looking at a rebranded version of this whether it be Sears,Kmart, employees it doesn't matter ... we're ALL COMPETING WITH EACH OTHER (hmmm, where have I heard or seen that idea come into my life before???)... so thats the first level of bullshit ... this isn't exclusive, and a bunch of people across the USA are being sold this horseshit as brand exclusive , ie. so some Kmart employee is sitting at his computer going "wow, look at these exclusive deals and special offers for Kmart employees" ... you probably recognized that right off ...

Secondly ... they set up their website and contact YOU like they are interested in helping you. Well they would say "what could you complain about if we are offering you 20% off on something?" ... well, I'll tell you ... its because I've been in marketing and its all shit. You've gotta understand people "its all shit" ... let me explain ... in any and EVERY businessman's mind there are two places to be in any transaction ... there's the business side and the customer side ... get it straight the businessman in his mind has no ethical problem,"charging what the market will bear" ... the businessman is a profit taker , period ... he is here to get what he wants and fuck you and your dumbass kids ... I hope that isn't too much of a shock to any of you because this IS how it IS and they will tell you so if you go to work anywhere ...
there are two sides to every transaction in the world and in the thinking of the world ... the customer and the businessman ... the customer gets patronized and told anything he will believe if he is not smart enough to pick up on the overt bells and whistles of the whole thing then in their mind he deserves it cause he's dumb and needs to be taught a lesson ... in this way they get away (in their own mind)with charging people thousands of dollars more than a car is worth ... cause they gotta feed THEIR kids and if you don't know this by now then praise god they are just the men to teach it to you ... they're doing you a favor by exploiting you ... get it? cont ...

Roberta, I've seen all of these problems before, but never all in one store. Yeah, at first it looked like my wife was going to get blamed, but the inventory turned out remarkably well despite all the difficulties.

I'm not sure they can afford to fire anyone willing to be a TL without a very good reason, though. Several years ago the company decided to combine 2 adjacent districts. This spring they apparently realized that was a bad idea, so they split the district again. We're in the new district, and we only got one TL in the split.

Anywho, fear makes people double minded ... double mindedness leads to evil thoughts and evil thoughts make people dumb, or something like that. I was doin a job today and the customer is all over us doing 100% recounts and their prep was minimal and they pack their candy ... its all fine and good as far as I'm concerned but I'm watchin money walk out the door. If the customer doesn't want to prep their store and they can't leave their candy boxes at stock levels of 24/36/48 ... its gonna take twice as long to count the candy ... if they don't have time to sort their flavors in the cooler then its gonna take twice as long to count the cooler ... duh, maybe the customer should pay a premium for this extra service ... you don't want to prep your store? no problem, we'll take care of that for you with RGIS' new Premium Service ... you want to call the office and request particular auditors that you like so much, well they ARE in demand so it will cost you a bit extra ... now look what I've done... I've just given a million dollar idea to you elitist dumbasses but you'd rather somehow be in bed with your corporate clients and extort the common folk on your payroll ... this isn't even sound business practice ... could I make this any simpler for you? econ101 - you make money off THE CUSTOMER ... to academic for you simple bastards? ok lets try a Law of the Jungle mythos - Don't Shit Where You Eat, how's that?
We truely are entering an age where good old fashion stupid greed is giving way to evil class warfare and it makes people dumb and blind. We have the lead in market share of this business and there is SO much money to be made if you weren't so scared thus evil, and thereby ... dumb. Blackstone Corporate perks online huh? why don't you just spit in my face, maybe THAT will make me more productive ... if you want to abuse someone, then have children, but stay the fuck out of my life you ignorant swine.Stop trying to sell me a bunch of worthless shit that nobody needs ...

Not everyone is so stupid to try and prop up their low self esteem with high dollar consumer goods. We're not trying to outdo the neighbors across the street you adult children. Your obsession with material forms has choked out your inner spiritual nature and so you chase after the wind and feed on emptiness. We are not as easily fooled as you are. A life of hard work, pain, struggle, and suffering leads to inner perfection and spiritual awakening, and this has been known for thousands of years. You greedy bastards are in a minority even though your flatulent lifestyle is in our face everyday. Get out from behind the desk and build something with your hands, gdmt. Stop power tripping off telling other people what to do. Stop substituting financial sexploitation of the masses for inner peace, light, and true power. You are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses and your fucking it up for yourself, not us. Get ahold of yourself man and quit this fakeass job and stop pontificating in front of your fakeass friends. Sell this business to someone who can still save it and buy a cabin out in Colorado with your golden parachute and get back in touch with what Mother Earth is doing and the changes we are about to go through. Shop at Sears you ego possesed fucks. You don't want to be left with only others like youself around and none of us to spiritually sponge off of ... its gonna be aweful to miss the shift in consciousness that is taking place.

Popgun, for some reason a post you made yesterday didn't get published here (unless I'm missing something, I don't see it) so I'm re-posting it now:

... so all the bells and whistles are shining and flashing on the Blackstone Marketplace (cs@corporateperks.com) ... this is your employer teaming up with markters or maybe I should call them marketeers ... to further exploit YOU and label it as a gift ... they make profit off of YOU ... your blood sweat and tears and your domestic situation ... and they sit around while we're at work and think of ways to fuck us when we get done making them successful ...
so now with blackstone marketplace whereas before you would team up with your employer and together you would strategize how to best "help" the customer ... together, a team,(and when I say "help" picture you and your employer with a customer bent over a chair and your both giving it to thme doggy) ... now blackstone, your employer has actually teamed up with someone else to fuck YOU, their fuckers ... get IT?? its a total flip job ... your invited to dinner but guess what's on the menu ? These people hate you because though they need you to build their business on ... you scare them because you are not like them ... you actually work ... so they team up with some beverly hills wiz kid company, with no doubt big payouts and kickbacks, to show YOU what they think of you and how dumb they think you are ... selling you a bunch of shit you don't need that they couldn't unload cause they made a mistake in their exploitation predictions ... so njow there's a nice sucker hotline for all blue collar people that if the exploiters f,up there will always be some dumbass blue collar people around to bail us out. Hope you appreciate the arrogance and disregard for who you are and what you are doing as a sign of the times ... a sign that something is coming ... the only thing that can not be forgiven is when evil is called good, and good; evil ... this here is a perfect example my fellow auditors. There WILL be a new heaven and a new earth, and people like this will NOT be a part of it ... they'll be on some other planet somewhere chasing each other around having not made the shift ... or let me make it simpler for the non-spiritual amoung us and the propagators who may be reading this ... "don't shit where you eat, dumbass".

WELCOME TO THE LARGEST DISTRICT IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!

I want to take just a quick minute to welcome the joining of D220 into our D228 family. With the merge of these two districts we will now in fact be the largest district in the world. Not in the territory we cover but the amount of revenue we will generate, the amount of stores we will service and the amount of auditors we will have on our roster at any given time. What does this mean to you? Some things you are accustomed to may change; every district is run just a bit differently. I don’t believe the changes will be that much of a shock or out of the ordinary, but we are going to quickly set some ground rules. Everyone in the entire district will start with a clean slate. So for some of you that were close to being on the outs due to attendance, tardiness, etc. you have just been given a golden opportunity to turn things around without jeopardizing your position.

Dress Code – we follow it to the guidelines. Black pants, black shoes (all black), no color, no white sole, no white laces, no open toe or open back and must have a non-skid sole to help prevent slip, trips and falls. No facial jewelry, if you wear it, take it out. You were all told in training it had to go while being in an inventory, why test it each and every day, make it go away. You are free to wear and be whoever you want when you aren’t on my time, please adhere to this policy. Earrings, traditional earrings please – no large hoops. These can get caught in a hanger as you are halfway in a clothing rack and not be a pretty sight when you pull back and your earring is left on the hanger.

Team Leaders – Reports and Respect – Team Leaders will be treated with respect; they wear the color gray for a reason. Some of them supervise events and some of them schedule teams. Your manager’s have placed these auditor’s in a position of authority and they deserve to be treated with respect, every time, no questions asked. If you are asked to count an area, you count it. If you are asked to stay behind and pull tags, you pull tags. They have all been instructed to treat you with respect and they deserve the same. This doesn’t mean they are to abuse their position and if you feel someone overstepped their bounds please bring it to management’s attention and it will be addressed. Some of you may remember the old fashioned TL Reports from years past. We continue this tradition today and find it a very important part of the scheduling process. It is your responsibility to update your team leader each week with your availability. Your standard schedule applies, this doesn’t change. What does change however is reporting your requested time off. This will go through your Team Leader in advance, not Nancy or Donna at the office. Once your availability is given your schedule is to be worked. There is no pick and choose, there is no this is too far to travel, there is no I don’t like that store. If you give your availability, you have given us your word you are ready to work that shift, enough said. Your Team Leaders have been asked to reach out to you for the first report so we can get you started on the right track. It is up to you from this point forward to notify your Team Leader each week with your availability. They have been instructed to not include you if we haven’t heard from you. You will not be scheduled if you don’t make send in your availability. We will NOT be emailing or calling you. Availability is due to the office on Friday by close of business and can’t be late. The availability should have been sent in for 5/8-5/14 at this time. Some of you may be a week behind and I can understand that. When you get a quick chance please submit for the week 7 schedule which will be released next Saturday. So listen team, send your availability for 5/15-5/21 to your Team Leaders by Wednesday so they can compile their reports and get them sent to me by 4/30. Then we are all on the same page. Schedules come out week ahead so you can plan your time accordingly. Technical support is working on merging D220 with D228 so this first week it may not be released until Monday. It is written but can’t be keyed as the names aren’t in the system at this time, so let me apologize in advance.

Travel – Am I setting out to schedule you in faraway places, NO. Will we travel to the other side of our territory for large or core events, YES. I am a big advocate of doing our own business and not bringing others into our house. We all will work extremely well together as a team and our team is compromised when we invite outsiders into our district. There are several risks when we do this – districts send inferior teams and there are accuracy issues, attitude issues, they don’t adhere to the dress code and present a poor appearance. I could go on and on, but I won’t. Just know it may take some time to become self sufficient, but we will and when that happens, look out…………..there will be no stopping us. If your team is needed in Kohl’s, we will schedule you in Kohl’s. If there is a Stop and Shop we will schedule you in a Stop and Shop. We are scheduled to assist in Central/North Jersey stores and Philadelphia when there is a need by our other districts. We will continue to do this. Why? This allows our auditors to work and also brings back money home to our district. We want to take as much money as we can from the other districts. We are already known as the district that everyone likes to keep until the end. That should be looked upon as a good thing. I know in every instant it isn’t, but from a district stand point it certainly is. We make the best presentation, we make the least amount of mistakes and we will always come through with our commitments. This will continue to be the case. Our northern territory will soon be picking up some additional core business, CVS, Walgreens, Pep Boys to name a few. We will do our own business so be ready.

Attendance – We will start the entire district off with a clean slate. What is our policy? If you are unexcused your are terminated. We are all adults here and responsible ones at that. This is a job and not one to be taken lightly. If you don’t want to work then why are you here? If you don’t show up to an inventory and don’t call and let anyone know of the emergency why are you here? If I have 6 auditors on the schedule I expect 6 auditors to report to the event. Yes there are emergencies and I understand that but keep in mind, there are only so many emergencies before it becomes unbelievable. We need auditors on our team that want to work and there are plenty of people out there looking for employment. This is not a threat by any means, just stating a fact. We will do what it takes to make sure our customers receive the proper staffing and will continue to hire until we can do that on a regular basis. Excused absences – you are allowed 3 in a calendar year, so make them count. Once the schedule is released unless I scheduled you incorrectly or your Team Leaders made the mistake on their end in their reporting it is your responsibility to report to work. If you have to call out for any reason you are to notify the supervisor running the event and your team leader. Nothing irritates me more then when the schedule is released on Saturday and the auditor finds a mistake in their schedule and reports it on Friday when we can’t find a replacement. Look at your schedule and report any issues immediately so we stand a chance of meeting our staffing commitment to the customer. Your supervisors can’t run an event shorthanded and shouldn’t have to.

Anonymous said...

Attitude and Personal Life – Leave them at the door – When you step into an event leave all your troubles behind. You are there to do your job, do it well without attitude and without your cell phone. It may be left on vibrate in the case of emergency and all supervisors are to have theirs on in case a manager needs to get in touch with you regarding your inventory or the need to move the troops to another location. As a team member you are NOT to be in the aisle talking or texting, got it??? If a supervisor has to tell you once then in my eyes they have told you too many times. If you need to take a call, take it off the floor. The customer does not need to see you on it and if you are on it counting you will be asked to leave the inventory. This isn’t a social hour it is a job and you are paid to work for RGIS, not plan your weekend. When it comes to attitude we will not have it, period. Stop worrying about what others are counting and count as instructed by your supervisor, without question. If you are in a core event there are probably several Top Guns and Experts in there and you are all vying to count the premium goods. It all has to be counted; you are all extremely efficient at what you do. It doesn’t matter if it is checkouts, cosmetics or even clothes, count it with the same sense of urgency and your individual ASET levels will be in check. Stop with the he shouldn’t be counting this, or she shouldn’t be allowed to count that. The supervisor runs the event and if you feel strongly about where you are being placed in an event talk to your Area Manager about it, not the auditor standing next to you. This is all attitude and we can’t run a solid district and have a well rounded group of teams with attitude.

Parting words – this district (D228 South Jersey) is going to be the best and we will not stop until this has been achieved and maintained. There is nothing better than shutting people up with the numbers we produce, both aph and profit for the company. We will not settle for sub-standard performance or tolerate those that are not behind us as we dominate RGIS. So for all those that are with us, welcome aboard and for those that aren’t, get ready to be run over by the train.

My door is always open (okay my phone is always on and email running), don’t hesitate to ask a question, schedule an appointment to come in and chat about moving up in our company or just say hey when are you coming to my store. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you as we begin this journey together as ONE TEAM with ONE PURPOSE, to BE THE BEST.

Productivity and Accuracy – We all know that RGIS has been on a productivity push for the last year. Do we all agree with some of the APH requirements for every customer, no. Will we strive to do our best in every event and hit the mark 9 times out of 10, yes. Will we sacrifice customer service to hit our individual ASET goals, NO. Accuracy is our primary concern; we have built this company on that statement. You will be accurate in an inventory, every inventory. If you choose to go down the road of being inaccurate you will no longer be employed with RGIS. You will push yourself in every event to reach the next highest ASET level. Don’t settle to just reach your goal, push for the next level. With hard work and determination you will increase your efficiency, don’t sacrifice accuracy to get there. We need auditors that want to get to the next level, want to move up to team scheduling or inventory supervisor and want to be an Area Manager, or even my position. Somewhere in the not so distant future RGIS will implement a policy about those Auditors that have remained in the Auditor position for an extended period of time. They will ask the Area Managers if those individuals are truly giving 100% to RGIS or are they just here to receive a paycheck. If the answer is the latter the Area Managers will make a change. You have to understand it isn’t personal, it is a job and we have the responsibility to RGIS to be a profitable district. Those individuals not pushing themselves to reach the next level aren’t ones we need standing next to us in the trenches each day as we strive to be the best district in the world.

Tardiness – DO NOT BE LATE. What is the saying, if you are on time you are late??? Get to the inventory, punch in, get a machine and be ready for the pre-inventory briefing at the start time of the event. Don’t come strolling in the door at the time it is to begin. We should not have to give our briefing more than once. It isn’t fair to the supervisor and it isn’t fair to the customer. Take time and weather variables into consideration when traveling to an event. Being late 3 times constitutes as an excused absence, which means you are late to an inventory 9 times and you have had no excused absences you are terminated. It doesn’t matter if you are a supervisor or an auditor, if you are late habitually, you will be let go. Do what it takes to get to work on time, every time.

Anonymous said...

Wow, if a manager tried that around here the employees would take care of him really quickly.

The tardiness thing is hilarious. I'm of the opinion it's better to be slightly late for an inventory. Why clock in and stand around for 20 minutes while they give a speech on something you already know how to do and let your APH go down? Once you've done a few inventories, they're all bascially the same, scan the ticket, scan the merchandise, count back if it's an auto-quantity store, tagging optional depending on supervisor/store. What else do you really need to know? I know it's mostly for the store manager's benefit.

Since when are you the mouthpiece of some D228 RM or DM who is living in his own fantasy world? Geez, those posts sounded like they came straight from the Auditor`s Handbook.I`ve been through about a half dozen new DM/Rm`s in my time and they all gave similar "rah-rah" speeches as this D228 person. And they broke all their promises and RGIS procedures, played favorites, and basically were morally corrupt in no time at all. It`s laughable to think that anyone would take that person seriously.

OTL: I think I've said before that I like to hear from everyone RGIS-connected, be they auditors or management. And whether their experiences regarding RGIS are negative or positive. The person that made those posts that you referred to has a voice just like everyone else and should be heard, I think, regardless if anyone agrees with him or not. And everyone should feel free to comment on what he wrote as well.

Also, in regards to those long posts.

Someone could have posted them for the laughter or bullshit factor. They probably just got it in their email and posted it here to show the bullshit still exists.

Is RGIS going back to the old team leader scheduling that it used to use ten years ago? You know--call the team leader and go over the schedule. It is OK if you have a goog TL. If not, it can be hellish. You know--you tell the team leader you can't work on such and such a day, but the TL turns in his/her sched. and says you will be there. You get a call at 4 AM and they want to know why you aren't in Timbouktoo. This does not work from past experience!

I never call my team leaders for anything unless i am calling out of a store they are running. Our team leaders are for strictly running stores and nothing else. You should be contacting your AM or DM.

Our DM at 159 has some of us come into a store and work w/o signing in on a offical time sheet. We then record our time on a 908 time sheet. Now, the fight begins to get paid. She has shafted several of us on our time. What's funny here is that RGIS has a law suit filed against the currently pending in California and they fired all the DMs in Houston for altering electronis time sheets.

Why would you not report the DM for doing that. There are lawyers that are directly related to the lawsuit that you can call that actually want to hear about stuff like that

imagine if i cared if i showed up on time. most of the TL's a no show is common. i show up late to miss all the downtime too. especially in the hard to hit calc stores 30-60mins late is normal. the easy to hit calc stores i usually love standing around listening to stupid instructions. i actually took a bet if 2 top guns (one a team leader) would show up to a store. i bet on them showing up i figure if they show up to half thier stores it a winning bet long term...i lost that bet. then the next week they no showed with another expert/new teamleader...i would of been so pissed to lose 2 top guns and expert(2 of them being teamleaders) if i was running that store. the store finished around 3pm...normally done at 11am-12...we are so short staff teamleader wise they have no choice but to keep them.

about picking and choosing my stores...i do that all the time...i have no contract with rgis that i will do any store any time. they can offer me some stores and i will let them know if they are paying me enough to do them. if they start bitching about me not excepting stores i would just no show or call in late to a store for they would have no chance to replace me. i have a growing list of stores i wont do for many reasons. tough shit if they don't like it. rgis is not doing me any favors. when i quit or get fired from rgis i am so going to activly campaign to stores to stop using rgis. RGIS has built a lifetime enemy. i promise i will cost them more money than they ever made by screwing over employees.

i probablly wont be a teamleader next quarter since i have no intention of making 75% of my calcs. i am sick of them. look forward to being demoted. can't wait to see my replacement...lol.

I'm a manager and have been with the company a very long time! The sad part is i cannot disagree with the comments I have just read. I understand the need to make changes as this is a business and every business, especially nowadays, needs to tighten up and make money. However the way this company has gone about it is mostly ridiculous! You auditors think you have it bad?? You have no idea what it is like to be a manager these days. I do not know one single happy manager. None of us can figure out when this turned into a 24/7 job. We are so busy with conference calls, emails, OPS mgr follow up, long store follow up, why we didn't hit in store follow up, piqa follow up.... When are we supposed to have time to manage? And we can't even reap the rewards of a successful inventory where everything has gone right only because we missed aph by 50 pcs...nothing else matters. I can take comfort in the fact that my customers still appreciate the good job we do for them.

When I came up in the ranks the managers were out there counting with us, actually training and helping, having camaraderie. I don't even see my people half the time! Then after working a zillion hours a week we have to check in with store TL's no matter what the time and what we've been working??

This job used to be worth it. I can't even justify the pay and extras for the amount of work put in. Also regarding the Blackstone "benefit" BS... I agree with Popgun. What a bunch of crap. I could go on and on which I might do in later posts but I just wanted you guys to know that a lot of us are with you in your anger! I'm feeling a bit stuck with this job in the current economy however I am looking for options out.

Don't even get me started on my thoughts of the ASET pay. Argh. What a load of crap. What incentive does a TG have to improve? No one has been able to answer that one along with many other questions.

Anonymous, the manager. Nice to finally see a manager admit that the whole system is warped. Not only do topguns have no reason to count as much as they can since they are stuck at their payscale and level, the system is pretty much designed to keep everyone at their aset level. The lower classifications such as auditor and specialist are continuously given the worst areas to count so they can't move up either. The topguns are assigned anything with a lot of pieces, so even experts are somewhat stuck. They are usually given something that will keep them at their aset level too.
Then you throw in the favoritism and you are doomed from ever moving up. The managers in my district always target the very same people for the worst areas so they are always in danger of going down. They pick people who are not spectaculiar counters, give them piecy areas, and up they go.
Then you have what my DM likes to refer to as auto one topguns and keying topguns. We have a whole team of topguns who only do auto one inventories. Put them in a keying inventory and they peck at the keys with one finger. They can't key. But they are at the top pay level. they never get assigned to financial inventories because their level would go down in a snap. So, they continue to make top pay to scan only. However, we have experts, who can count financially, and can scan and maintain their level but can't go up because they are being held back. When I started years ago, you had to be able to do both. How exactly is it fair to pay people who can only scan at top gun levels (can we say batching) more money than someone who can do both kinds of inventories equally.
Then you have topguns who can do both, and there is zero incentive for them. They can key like the wind, and make the same amount of money as their auto one counterparts. Yet, they can count you out of a store. You take the auto one topguns, put them in a financial and they will raise your calculated APH, and doom you. The true topguns, and I say that with a smirk, because there are very few who are legitimate topguns now,
are being told to count above their average. Really? Why? As long as they hit their average, they maintain their pay. Why count more than they need to??? To make more money for the company?
They give their employees zero at this point. I would venture to say there isn't another company around who refigures their employees pays every 7 weeks. When this company brought my pay down by over 4.00 an hour, they told me that they no longer were paying for longevity, dependability or availability. They are paying for production only.
Then do NOT expect 24/7 availability from me. Do not send us emails that we need to accept our schedules as given. Do NOT threaten us with termination for NO SHOWS. That would fall under dependability that they no longer pay for. And yes, there are stores we will no longer accept.
Those stores have APH's that are unreachable, and if you do too many of those in a 7 week period, your pay is going down. And, as far as their bonuses, I still question how legal it is to take away a bonus I earned today in my store, because a store I am in tomorrow doesn't hit the average.
I legitimately earned that bonus today. I understand every company today is out to make money like you said, but I'm sure you will agree that they are now looking for slave labor and aren't willing to ever compensate or reward their employees. And, I really feel for you too. My manager can't even get his PIV's done. He is too busy with all this follow up stuff, and emails and reports too.

rectal counter said...

PIV...lol most of the far away stores we just call. Even if there is a mandatory visit. auto-1 top guns...lol...we don't have any of those. i am probably only an expert as a auto-1 scanner (but i don't batch).

There are the stores that i am "told how to count". I would normally average 800 pieces auto scanning...Some stores i average 2500+...Gee if corporate just did not care about profits, you would think alarm bells would be going off, when in a auto scan store there are people closing in on 3000pcs an hour.

There are two crazy national calc stores in my district. One i refuse to do because thier is a negative bonus with evrey store. The other i was the only one who hit thier average (only because i did the backroom)...i would have to prowl to hit...or do a cheap technique(not cheating but pretty close).

I am going to do this small inventory. The guy is always a pain in the ass. I have to argue with him to show his inventory to me. He just wants me to accept his numbers. Well i am not going to argue this time, i am just taking his numbers, wtf do i care. If the client finds out i took his precounts they wont pay rgis, as if i care.

if rgis want to schedule you day and night send them an email of what you will to do. Like i am available anytime but i require 6hours of sleep between stores.(i may on occasion negate this stipulation) I will not work "X" store for "X" money if i am required to do "X" pieces. Refuse stores if the standards are too high for the money they are paying you. Make you own conditions. Put them in writting, emails work great.

RGIS CUSTUMERS: WE(RGIS) DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOUR INVENTORY. RGIS IS JUST TRYING TO GRAB EVREY NICKLE THEY CAN FROM YOU. RGIS WILL PAY LIP SERVICE TO ACCURACY AND CUSTUMER SERVICE BUT NOTHING IS EVER DONE TO CHECK FOR IT. 99.9% OF ALL EFFERT IS FOR SPEED/PROFIT...

File a complaint with your state if you're not being payed properly, after you have brought it to HQ attention. When fines of 1k-10k per violation start coming down they will get thier asses moving. Those 908's have a space to be signed by the employee so when there is no signature, its not going to look good for your DM or RGIS. AS FAR as i know those 908 pay scale is 4.00 over auditor (0.50 more than top gun)...your DM may have adjusted your time since the 908 is at a higher pay scale...look into that end of it...

I made a rap song about RGIS a while ago and it was about Top Guns and joking about batching and not calling sku checks and things. Now my DM heard that I made this song and a few minutes later I get a text from my boss telling me I need to remove it from youtube immediately. It really pisses me off. It was a very well written song everyone said. "Life Changing Moment...." this time: For Worse....

-T.G.

Anonymous said...

They can't force you to remove the song from Youtube. Well, unless you wrote it and uploaded it while on company time (which I'm sure you didn't).

If they terminate you or cut your hours because you refuse, it could cost the company a bundle.

Any lawyer would simply use the Freedom of Speech clause. And I'm sure there's another law or two that could be applied also.

It is just so ridiculous. Here is the song if you want to hear it :-)

lots happenning in the UK, One DM fired for messing with timesheets but what they going to do..? fire everyone? they are all at it.To be honest i dont think the guy they got was doing that much wrong, bloody hell theres DMs doing much worse. Its quite shocking how corrupt RGIS is.FROM THE TOP TO THE BOTTOM

Hi from the UK
I understand there is a claim for unpaid non working time.payroll shortages and timesheet alterations now being raised in the UK.
Its about time.Of course there are differing laws in the UK from the US but generally seem similar. We have an account in the UK called Matalan that has a salesfloor count of 6.5 hours. No breaks are allowed and that clearly violates the 6 hr working without a 20 min break rule that exists in the UK.If an auditor requests a break he is refused and not scheduled for other events as the punisment .To be fair the store is scheduled so tightly to a 6.5 count duration that any break of any duration would jeopordise the count time agreement with the client. There are daily examples of 13 and 14 hours worked without a break.I am setting up a web page in the UK for all employees in the UK to join in the "class action" similar to the one running in the US.

rectal counter said...

great rap song...i shared it with some of the peeps in my district, will let you know feedback from them.

they can't force you to take the song down. but they can fire you for any reason other than protected reasons like sex, religion, race, ect...they might/probably will have to pay you unemployment. there is only one state in the united states that is a "right to work" state that i know of.

as to spell checking and sending anything off to anyone. i think i would drop the swearing and capitalize, to look more professional also. but i have no plans. if a custumer stumbles across this blog i just want them to know what they are getting.

I heard(from a reliable source) a DM was fired for having employees work off the clock and not paying them at all. I wonder if these were the San Antonio DM's mentioned before?

Wreju said...

Re: You guys a couple of posts above me from the UK.

First off, can you tell me which DM was fired for altering timesheets? Or if you're uneasy about giving out names, can you tell me which district he was in?

And it's about time someone set up a webpage in the UK, similiar to those in the States. I was an Auditor for a good few years here in the UK and seen it all. Altered timesheets, long hours without breaks (Matalan! An absolute whore of a customer, espcially in the backroom. I still have nightmares about the tote boxes), drivers expense forms conveniently going "missing", and a shocking lack of ethics and competent management.

Take 0.1 of an hour away from 10 auditors and all of a sudden your APH improves.

Hey Misfit! Started reading your blog yesterday, and really enjoy it! You're a great writer!

I've been with RGIS for 17 months now, and my experiences couldn't be more different from yours! I'm lucky enough to be part of the Newfoundland office (I forget the district number), and I've had a great time so far. This is a small office, with about a dozen or so "regular" employees, and a handful of part-timers. We're a very close-knit group, and we have a lot of fun on the job! Our Area Manager is the best: you couldn't ask for a better boss! Part of the reason we all get along so well is due to all the road trips we have to take. Being the only RGIS office in the province, we're constantly on the road, and if you can't get along while in the company van (or a rental vehicle) for several hours at a time, you probably won't last long with us. That said, we're an easygoing group, and do our best to make newbies feel welcome.

Mind you, I have no great loyalty to the company itself, just the people I work with. I'm sorry to hear that your (and so many of your readers') experiences with RGIS have been so negative. But I thought y'all might be interested in hearing another side of the story. :-)

I can attest that the newfies auditors are a happy bunch. I met a few of them a couple of years ago when a team of them was flown into Toronto to help with the HBC stores in January.

but I don't think they would be too happy if they became a permanent auditor of the 537 district as it's getting worse every year I've been here.

There's no pride anymore, favouritism rules, and they're sending a dozen people to a store where WIS would only need 3 plus a supervisor. The managers are clueless, and half of them aren't even capable of running a small shoe store, even if their job depended on it.

dist 35*(and several other districts) sups and am's shave time off all the time. we come in early and they always adjust our time to the start time. few pieces off of calc? adjust the times a bit. BUT none of us mind. it makes our bonuses better and our sups happy...and a happy sup is a happy team *insert fake smile here. but seriously, i could care less that they adjust times. it may be illegal but whatever helps us out, believe me there are way worse things this company has done

Wow - don't read the blog for a month and all sorts of stuff happens! Going back, I've worked CVS pharmacies since we GOT the account (ICS fired because its workers were found smoking pot in the company van) more than 10 years ago - still have NOT been drug tested.

Two, our district just gained a second satellite office- as if we weren't big enough stretching from CT into VT. What are they thinking?

Three, we're not salaried - we will never be offered a retirement package (401k)

Four: The managers may whine that they have it bad, too, but they, I believe, did NOT get the 30% pay cut that we longtimers got a time ago. I went from $13.90 an hour to $10.50. *$&%Y$#@*&

$15 to base pay of $11 but I won't work at $11 an hour. Have to have an adder role or I'm not working that job. I wasn't even close to the max they were paying in my district (had people at $20).
They want me on the portable (control desk) and I say NOPE as a Top Gun I don't get the money for control desk. Doesn't matter that anytime I'm on a control desk we are never behind in corrections or the customer is not happy with the way we handle them. I won't do it for $11 an hour when you used to pay me $15.
Sorry...

i am glad to hear there are people that like to work at RGIS. if as a new person you don't mind doing crap.

who heard of CAPT "cap training" where specialist and experts are "trained" to move up to the next level.

basily this is an idea of idiots that never worked at rgis. the training will be just let experts do a few more piecy areas and poof top gun material. there has to be 6 being trained at all times until half the district is experts and top guns. This is just going to make a real top gun run out of stuff to count. its a non paid adder role.

the drug test are for national RX account only for now. I REFUSED to take a drug test not because i do drugs. just because i don't like doing a particular night time RX account that throws my sleep off. i also did not want to waste an hour of my day driving down and back to the place. rgis can have a hair sample from me anytime but don't make me do the leg work...with the drug test they do a crinamal back ground check only supposed to go back a certain amount like 5-7yrs but things 20+ years ago was poping up.

managers never took a pay cut and recently were allowed to get raises and maybe collect bonuses(not to sure on bonuses.) i could be a manger 31k a year would have to move to a shit district and the extra money would go to higher rent...lol. 45k is the top of the scale i would not do it for 45k...my bosses DM was desperate would except anyone half qualified that day!!!

also the national account i mentioned before i thought i lost for sure, that i got kicked out of.

well this year i am running it...LMAO.

i was in a meeting with all the big people from the account. they were so unhappy with us last year and said so. swearing constantly. funny as hell. well lets see what i can do this year to make sure we really lose the account.

i will give it a good college try to make it work. from both rgis and the account side. RGIS is paying me 14.00 to run this so... but if its not working for one or both of the sides after 3 stores. i am so going to clue this account completely on in what RGIS is all about.

also i am missing all my calcs this quarter...from 1st to almost worst in my district (i only made one really easy one). which i mention before i just was not going to care. My DM AM's will constantly yell harrass other TL's when they miss but don't dare even look my way when i do...

and when i miss a calc i miss it bad. just did one and did half the CALC...i really pour on the extra time when i miss a calc. missing by 100 or 600 there is no differece except torward my overtime pay LMAO...

A RGIS team leader was fired Tuesday for taking a bottle of Xanax from Walgreens. They were the store supervisor.

Loss prevention came to the store, watched the video tape and saw her take it. Made another team leader have to take over the inventory while the first one sat in the office.

No counters were allowed to leave the store until loss prevention got there (not even for a break).

The first supervisor ended up not getting arrested and just escorted out of the store.

Yes for you hourly folks that have been here for a while i do feel bad for you and it wasn't right what they did at all. Do you guys realize that most of the managers that I know work so many hours during a week that there comes out to about $2.00/hr. Not to mention the fact that I forgot what my family looks like for that low pay. Then when I talk to some of my team leads that worked 55 hours and got paid a whole hell of alot more than I did for the week. I know the opportunity is there sometimes for the hourly to make more but us salary are stuck.
Hell I even heard some managers were falling asleep in there vehicles or office waiting for the next meet time.

you stated that you make 2.00 an hour. if you worked every hour of the week all 168 x 2.00 you would only make 336.00 obviously this is a huge exageration.

manager at least make 500.00 (26k a year) if your worked 80-100 hours a week. let say 100 you would still make 5.00hr. putting in 60-80 your probably make $7.18-9.58 that at 31k 575 a week.

i am not saying the mangers have it easy. you have to deal with us pissed off team leaders and auditors. i know i can make more than my managers if i wanted too.

i like my DM and AM's i hate the people who set the policies above them. for all we are doing the teamleader AM's and DM;s are collectivly cheating the custumers and the numbers to appease some number cruncher that has no clue.

---------------------------------

also i don't have much pain at my job. i feel sorry for the people who need the job. i have enough money saved up to last years. i am just hanging out til i get fired for not doing some rediculous thing RGIS wants me to do. right now i give a little and my managers give a little. one day i might just give them hard rules and tell them to fire me if they don't like them. the problem is they wont cause they always need a good/halfass caring teamleader to run stores.

thanks for the update on the court case.

i ran a store with a ridiculous store average for the counters. The average in the store is so high since evreyone who ran it, blasted in horrible cheats. So i added a whole bunch of pieces to the employees averages. i was really dumb and blatent about it. The boys at HQ where not to happy with my stunt. i so want to rip off a few emails to the jackasses that have no clue in HQ. But my DM and AM's have enough shit to deal with, without me stiring up a hornets nest.

SO DEAR JACKASSES AT HQ, ask your DM's and AM's what averages are totaly out of whack. If over and over again no employees are making thier averages in a particular store then there is a problem. if you don't fix the averages. i will continue to fix the averages of my employees, i just wont be obvious about it.

what i really want to talk about (speculate about) is what kind of settlement RGIS would do to make the lawsuit go away. i wonder if they will drop the policy of not paying people both ways 1hour of travel. That is the one thing i think is most unfair. This does not effect me much since i rarely travel. But i would just like it to be fair for the employees that do those 3-4am office meets.

missing finger laser (nice name) nothing motivates RGIS employees more than leaving RGIS.

Area manager in Detroit area was recently fired for several reasons. One big reason was doctoring time sheets to make averages.

I've heard there are other reasons as well. She was an AM in one district, became the Big Box manager before they disbanded that because no one wanted to work with her.

She had a select few that loved to work with her. Let's just say they were all the same race. So another reason for her firing could have been racial discrimination.

Anonymous said...

Your blog is bringing back nightmares for me. I can't even read it all because of the anxiety levels. It's been a year, and I'm not recovered from the experience yet.

Anonymous said...

Regarding the fired Detroit manager and race, I call BS - most of the worst pets were of the lily-white variety.

Aside from the timesheet tampering, those most familiar with the situation think it was her temper that finally did her in.

We're not sure if she's actually been fired, suspended or what. All we know is that the mood in the district is so much better than it was before she went away.

Anonymous said...

You apparently haven't paid close enough attention or she has changed since getting booted from the Big Box crew.

If they fired all the DM and AM that altered a timesheet to make an average. rgis would have to replace 99.9% of them.

RGIS FIXES

My part of the country has one of the lowest calcs HIT %. It also has one of the lowest transmission rates by wireless conections. What's the solution? Have poeple transmit to a media stick and have that person transmit wirelessly in supervisor mode. So it looks like evreyone transmited wirelessly. Why look for solutions when you can make it LOOK LIKE you fixed the problem?

well i RECTAL COUNTED a whole bunch of numbers in a few inventories this week. INCLUDING jacking up my average in a particular store where the average is 90% higher than a lot of look alike stores. The same store i got busted on not too long ago for jacking up an employees average(in a very obvious way since i did not care). Good luck at finding out what i did this time.

Am i manipulating your system? Awe poor babies. Sometimes life is not fair, especially at RGIS!

Me and roommate are both among the top counters in our district. We quit last week. We were nice enough to give notice but they can take this job and shove it. Everyone keeps saying that we'll be back. Never! My roommate was trying to go out for an AM position and our DM knew and told him he had his back. So what happens? When a position comes up the DM offers it to two other people in the district. It was a slap in the face. He worked his ass off to get that position and your going to offer it to two people who have already said in the past that they could not accept such positions because they refused to move. and then my roommate runs CVS's and runs them damn well, getting great numbers every time, inventory people love him, he has great repor. We find out that our DM has given the CVS's to the worst supervisor in our district. So another slap in his face. And this two stores a week bullshit and slow times are killer. How am I supposed to pay my rent. F*** this job. We both found a 40 hour a week guaranteed with possibility of overtime job with benefits, 401k, and Paid Time Off. It's a about a $4 cut in pay......but at 40 hours a week with benefits it works out. and even if it didn't I wouldn't care. My time has been put in at that prison, it's time to get myself out.

As far as altering timesheets, it's a common practice and ALL supervisors, am's, and dm's do it. How much you do, by a few minutes or a few hours, is another story. In our district the most I have seen a time sheet altered is 30 minutes, and then it was turned into a lunch, and anytime a time sheet is altered more than 10 minutes they always get our permission to do it, and i personally don't care if they do. It's common practice people, quit bitching about it. If it helps increase the bonus on my paycheck so be it.

countess said...

Anonymous at 7:37,

Did you really tell us to "quit bitching about" AMs deducting ten minutes at $11 per hour so we can make an extra 4 cents per hour in a four or five hour store? I may have worked at RGIS for a long time, but my math skills haven't atrophied that bad!

there are no more bonus stores being added as far as i can tell. basicly bonus pay equals 1/3 pay. thats if your lucky enough to keep it. is anyone working harder for bonus pay?

i am about 3/10 in calc stores. my DM last quarter was saying if you did not hit "x%" of calcs you could no longer be a teamleader. well i am missing left and right (almost on purpose) and i am not hearing nothing. really i would love to see my replacement.

I don't know why you guys aren't getting your bonuses but it's a huge incentive for us. EVERY paycheck I have an extra 50-100 bucks on it. I've just looked at my last 12 paycheck stubs and I never went under an extra $50. Today is my last day with this company. But I kind of realize how lucky I am to work in the district I do. I would never want my supervisor adding excessive extra time like half hour to an hour on my time sheet. Do you know how bad that effects my aph. I was a top gun. No way would I risk losing that. You may not care, but I did. This is a shitty, shitty, shitty job to have. Ain't no denying that. They treat us like shit and they have no respect for us. It's really just money they took away from you when they instituted those pay cuts last year. I'd also wager you're still losing money from what you were making before the paycuts.

Anonymous said...

I was hired after the paycuts, so no i'm not losing any money I'm actually making extra money from working my ass off. And you can doubt all you want, just because you aren't making bonus doesn't mean other districts aren't.

I got hired on two and a half years ago. I worked my way from $9/hour auditor to 12.50/hr top gun with no paycuts. I make the same kind of bonuses as Anon 9/2 7:13 does on their paychecks. Well, except in august, august was a slow crappy month. but even then with just two to three stores a week I was making an extra $20 on my paycheck in bonuses. Triple that on a regular week. And I totally agree, this job sucks but just wanted to point out that our district has no problem earning or wanting to earn bonuses.

Anonymous said...

Anon 8:13:

Actually I don't work for the company anymore. My district did make bonuses and I was one of the top two in terms of hitting the store mark.

The point is you should be paid for what you work, not based on some bogus bonus system.

If you're busting your ass for $10-12 per hour, well, it just sucks to be you.

Any bonus system that takes away money because Thursday's crew sucked and wiped out the 20 bucks you made Wednesday is seriously messed up. Anybody that supports such a system is seriously messed up. You enjoy making the 20 bucks for busting your butt and keying like there's no tomorrow. If the store takes an hour longer, that's money in my pocket that they can't take away because of some stupid bonus system. If everyone would band together, we'd get working conditions improved, but everyone's just in it for themselves, well, good for you. I'll keep my expert ranking and sleepwalk through the days, never moving up because it's simply not worth stressing myself over. I'll give 50% of my best at my job just so when my boss expects me to be a miracle worker I can pretend to be one. And when that no longer suits me, I'll tank APH until I'm finally down to auditor, collect unemployment because I rarely get scheduled, and suck as much money out of this company as I can before they finally have no choice but to fire me, then I'll just collect unemployment and instead of spending my days in a different time zone, I'll spend them in my hometown looking for a better job. Now that's something any RGIS employee should be able to get behind.

rectal counter said...

The people that are new don't know what they could of made under the old system. So newer people can make 11.50-12.50 if they are real good blow in artist, key fast or are placed well. This new system does pay newer people more. What happens is all the knowledge leaves though. Mostly all you have left is people that can only cheat to make a goal.

Bonus is payed at 1/3 of regular pay. So evrey hour you save rgis in payroll you might get $2-3.00.

As to adding time to other peoples timesheet. i ask the person before i did it. Also we believe the store did not count for average. If adding 30minutes to your timesheet in one store "risks" your top gun status, you are probably an over paid expert, being paid as a top gun, which this system benafits.

With 2 or more store runs the district will link the stores together. So if you worked 2.5 hours in store and 1.5 of travel in between. You get that 1.5 at minimum wage if it was under an hour you would get your base pay. You get the 2.5 hours at regular pay. Rgis "links" the stores together to not pay the 2 hour minimum per store. It could be different in other districts/state laws. RGIS DEDUCTS a hour to and from the store so if the travel time was 1.5 hours of travel before and after you get nothing for it.

The store i added 2 hours of time too i am not running this month. Even though i am running a store evrey day of that week.

i like to put travel time for 45-55 mins in between stores regaurdless of how far the stores were. This way you get full pay and the travel time does not effect averages.

To all of you that like to work hard and get payed what ever comes on your check. Rather than making as much as you can for your time. "Well there is a sucker born evrey minute." If your content and happy with that? Good, happyness is worth a billion more that any amount of money.

It is the games THEY play. I was asked to label (put up ART's) at Sports store the day before inventory. Put my time on a 908, padded to get my $12.50 an hour since 908 pays $12.
When the pay check comes I'm paid as the store event for the total hours that I had on my 908 at a non-adder role pay of $11 (Top Gun for our District, another rip off). On top of that the store did bad, real bad and it was a negative bonus so I lost all my bonus for the week and I wasn't even in the store.
That little labeling job cost me BIG BUCKS, never will I say yes to labeling again. The Games They Play!

Hey any AA's out there?

How many hours do you work per week?

What days do you work?

What is your rate?

Ex TL (thank whatever gods there may be)

I left the company two years ago, after nearly 10 years with them.

Started reading this particular entry with it's comments and could feel my anxiety level increasing most dramatically.

I miss the good times; there were some, but they were before Blackstone took over and the loss of the Audits for those piece of crap RM's.

I don't miss the lack of sleep, the being on call 24/7, the favortism, or the six or eight stores back to back scheduling.

I can't even say how happy I am to have my dignity back, not to mention having an employer that treats me like I am a human being.

Benefits, vacation days, pension planning and a 401 K along with actual raises instead of pay cuts?

Two 15 minute breaks and a REAL lunch in an 8 hour shift?

No more worrying about how to meet some unrealistic goal set by someone that has never sat and auto 1 scanned totes of underwear for 8 hours straight ....

No more B&BW, no more VS, no more dump bins of mixed beauty products?

It's so wonderful I can't even find the words to describe it.

All I can say is, if you work there, look for another job and don't stop until you find one. If you don't work there, don't ever start.

Ex TL (still thanking whever gods)

Had a dream last night, after reading another part of the blog.

There I was, dressed in my grey shirt, at a meet site for a store six hours away in another district ... just like old times.

Telling my co-workers it was just a once in a while thing, I had my dream job and was only helping out.

One of my friends said, "No! You know what it's like - you do one store and they'll suck you into more and more!
They'll NEED you." (which is why I was there in the first place - my old AM needed me)

People kept showing up, climbing into the van until finally there weren't any seats left. Well, technically there was one, but you needed a machine bag at the end of the seat for your other cheek. (been there, done that)

I told the crew they'd have to leave without me and called my husband for a ride. Watched them drive off.

I went from abject misery and depression (OMG, what am I DOING here??) to elation in five minutes - it wasn't a nightmare - it was a revelation.

I'm still laughing about it.

It is all a big game now. Any Manager that does not "Fix" stores to hit get fired. Lie and Cheat and you are a hero do things right and you are a zero. Great to know that "Accuracy is no longer our Greatest Concern"

Misfit
Thank you for this blog
Could you please start a new topic - suggestion, how you managed to leave, and recover your sanity. There are good people suffering out there. Try to tell them, it's ok to not suffer, how to leave. thanks!!!

What a great idea, Anon. Will do. I think it'll be great if other ex-auditors share their "Goodbye RGIS" stories too. Starting new post...NOW! :)

I used to work for RGIS the first thing you do
is sign a paper stating that under no circumstances
can you sue them. They made sure to take advantage of it. Sometimes taking away breaks to increase productivity, and make sure you know what starting pay is I was paid $3.50 an hour less than starting pay when I started. I never made it to starting pay in the three years I worked there. Even when I was made assistant manager which was a fictitious position. There are no assistant managers for RGIS. Not to mention the drugs, meth was a tool used regularly by the supervisors. If the big boss wants you present at every store and they run 24 hrs a day for weeks at a time. What are the big bosses really asking. They couldn't reasonably believe that a drug free person can stay awake for 2 or 3 weeks at a time. The sheer amount that the workers would do at once in the store bathrooms was mind boggling more then enough to kill a first time user I would imagine. If you can find decent work I'd suggest against working for RGIS.
On a more professional note if your boss uses words like "guesstimate" in inventory work it's not what the customer paid for, and a sure sign of a scam that your a part of.

I only lasted working for RGIS..DIST #132 macon GA. for about 10 weeks..No training whatsoever..Getting pulled from stores after 2 hours..Riding in a crowded van up to 3 hours 1 way and being assigned all the crap areas to count..Never even came close to making my APH..All for only $7.50 an hour..When I got to thinking about it all the gray shirts had only been with the company for a year or less..Red lights and sirens started going off in my head that something might not be honky-dory here..Out of the interview class of 10 people I was the only one to show up at the local k-mart a couple of days later to use the RM-1 machine and finger laser on a rounder of clothes for about 15 minutes..No training whatsoever at the actual inventories but I did have a nice auditor who showed me how to rig my count on the RM machine if my personal count didn't add up to the machines area count..So no deleting areas and starting over for me..If I counted too many items in the area on the machine I would just go to the hourglass search thingy and delete the barcodes with the minus key till I had it right or if the machine count was not enough items I would just get back into the area# and scan however many items to make it right..Just think of all the headaches I saved myself by learning that little trick..That's what you get RGIS for not caring about properly training an auditor..No breaks or lunches on the real big jobs but my 400 pound DM always made sure she had a sack full of chic-fil-a sandwiches and a big ol 48 ounce drink in front of her at all times..They even wanted me to do all of the RGIS smart-spacing merchandising for $7.50 an hour..After working with my so called trainer on 2 auto advance jobs and gonna have to run the jobs on my own after the 2nd training session..I said no thanks..Thats when the "Your Job Is On The Line" threats started..Bad economy or not..You don't threaten me with my job when I am only getting $7.50 an hour..I could just go on and on about this job but now I know why Rgis has the highest job turnover and job dis-sattisfaction among employees of any copmany in the country..If it walks like a duck-talks like a duck and acts like a duck..Then..It's a duck..Just very basic searches on RGIS will tell you everything you need to know about coming to work for this company..Just thank goodness that I am not desperate and had to keep this job at all costs or I might of just snapped on this outfit..I really feel sorry for everybody that is trapped with this job and company in this economy but no more being away from home for 24 hours and only getting paid for 5 hours for me.Them days are over.
